Both the boys and girls Kingwood Park High School wrestling teams took home the first place championship in the district tournament, setting a school record for the number of individuals to qualify for the regional tournament. Not only did two boys win district championships in their respective weight classes, but five Kingwood Park girls won first place in their weight classes as well. Additionally, 13 other Kingwood Park wrestlers qualified for the regional tournament.
The Austin-based taco chain Torchy's Tacos will open a new location in Kingwood this spring. The chain's newest Kingwood location will be located at Main Street Kingwood at the intersection of West Lake Houston Parkway and Kingwood Drive. Torchy's Tacos is known for its renowned queso and its variety of Mexican street food-style tacos.

Kingwood residents won't want to miss an Humble area favorite, the Humble Rodeo! This local rodeo returns this weekend, Feb. 10 and 11, at the Humble Civic Center and Arena Complex. This fun weekend of events will feature performers Kevin Fowler on Friday night and Stoney Larue on Saturday night, and proceeds go toward the Humble ISD Education Foundation. The Humble Rodeo will also feature rodeo events, like a calf scramble, chute dogging, and mutton busting.
