Don't miss the Kingwood Park High School Orchestra second annual Benefit Concert tonight! Head to the KPHS Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. to see all orchestras and Cello Choir perform, as well as three small ensemble performances. Benefit concert tickets will be $7, and all proceeds from tonight's event will go to the Wounded Warrior Project, the charity that the student orchestra officers selected.
The Houston Texans and defensive end J.J. Watt are working to cheer up a seventh grader from Kingwood who recently suffered a spinal cord injury.
After the twelve-year-old student, Seth Haynes, was hit by a car while riding his bike, he severed his spinal cord and broke his pelvis. Although he is being treated at a hospital in Chicago, the Texans sent him a care package of Texans gear, an autographed football by Jadeveon Clowney, an invitation to a game, and a personalized recorded video message from J.J. Watt wishing him the best during his recovery.

The new village of Royal Brook in Kingwood is blooming and filled with dozens of beautiful new homes ready for spring move-in. During this Showcase of Homes, you can enjoy lots of free food and fun demonstrations as well.
Humble ISD recently hosted Cardboard City, an event that aims to raise both awareness and funds for homelessness. High school and middle school students paid $25 to participate in Cardboard City, and then raised additional money to earn more cardboard to contribute to their "homes" for the night. The best cardboard homes were then judged and those students received prizes.
Humble ISD recently took home sixteen awards at the 2017 Texas School Public Relations Association communication awards ceremony, including three best in state awards. The district's "Humble High School Purple Pride" brochure received a best in state award, as well as the "Get Outta' My Goal" sports photo, which showcased a Summer Creek High School soccer athlete defending a goal. The "Education Foundation Employee Campaign" also received a Best in Category award.
