According to the Houston Chronicle, When students return to Kingwood High School in March after a 27 week hiatus due to Hurricane Harvey, they will retain an abridged schedule similar to the one developed while sharing Summer Creek High School, district officials said the week of Feb. 12. The return of KHS students to their home campus on March 19 sparked discussions of whether to remain on altered class scheduling or return to the traditional scheduling, said Trey Kraemer, Humble ISD assistant superintendent of high schools.

Both the Kingwood Park boys and girls swimming and diving teams continued their dominant season with each winning the region championship. Both teams finished in first place in the Region VI-5A meet at the Michael D. Holland Aquatics Center in Magnolia on Feb. 2 and 3.
Ashley Earhart was first a volleyball player at Kingwood High School, then its beloved coach. Now, 18 years, 326 wins, and 18 playoff appearances later, Earhart announced she is stepping down as the Kingwood volleyball coach.
She wants to spend more time with her 2-and-a-half-year-old son, MJ. "It's just become harder and harder to spend so much time away from him with him being so young and hitting so many milestones," she said. "I don't want to miss a minute of him growing up."
