New Caney ISD’s Community Scorecard Shows the District on a Rise
New Caney ISD is doing an amazing job this year! First, New Caney FFA students fostered Grand Champion animals and now there is a steady growth in the district’s community scorecard. The Community Scorecard spotlights different programs and other aspects in schools within the district to determine the score.
New Caney ISD’s academic growth has increased overall by 9%. The Royal Brook community’s middle school, New Caney Middle, was recognized in all four categories of notable distinctions – comparative academic growth, closing the gaps, math, and science. More than half of New Caney ISD’s middle school students and more than 90% of the high school students are enrolled in CTE, which develops their skills for certain trades.
There has been a recognizable increase in the enrollment for middle and high school orchestra, middle school band and high school theatre. New Caney ISD was labeled as “Advanced” when it came to teaching Digital Citizenship while the state and national score was “Proficient.” To top off this wonderful scorecard, 25 New Caney ISD Senior athletes “signed letter of intent to play college athletics.”
Kingwood is very proud to have students be a part of the acclaimed New Caney ISD. Great job!SOURCE: New Caney ISD Newsletter
